Chip and PIN

You might have heard about the new chip and PIN credit and debit cards.

To put it simply, chip and PIN is a new way of reducing card fraud that's being adopted by the banking and retail industries.

The technology means that whenever you buy something with a new chip and PIN card, you will probably be asked to enter your 4-digit PIN instead of signing a receipt. You won't have to do this when shopping by phone or online.
